PSM19760519PUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO IMINUTES OF MEETING FOR MAY 19, 1976 Meeting was called to order by Ald. Schaumberg at 7:50 P.M. Present were Mayor Gottfried, Ald. Wallner and Pienkos, Chief Kraus, and Mr. & Mrs. William Masterson. Mr. William Masterson came to the meeting to discuss bike trails. He • proposed to begin a plan for trails in Muskego. Ald. Schaumberg moved to approve, seconded by Ald. Pienkos, to have Mayor Gottfried appoint a committee to evaluate the best way of providing bicycle trails in City of Muskego. Committee will consist of at least one Alderman, one Police Official and City Civic groups. Committee will be appointed in the near future. Motion carried. Mr. Masterson also discussed his concern about traffic on STH 24 and the necessity of stop signs on the same. Ald. Pienkos moved to approve, seconded by Ald. Wallner, to direct the Public Works Dept. to erect signs at intervals specified by the State. Motion carried. • Ald. Pienkos moved to approve, seconded by Ald. Wallner to direct Public Works Dept. to remove "Stop" sign from the NE corner of Bristlecone Lane and to place a "Stop" sign on SE corner of Maclen. Motion carried. 0 Chief Kraus reported that no change be made on Hillendale and STH 24. Committee awaiting request for street light report for corner of Michi and Lake Drives from Supt. of Schools. Ald. Pienkos moved to approve, seconded by Ald. Wallner, that the City urge the State to have a study made on traffic on STH 24. Awaiting report of Police Department for recommendation of "No Parking" at end of Silver Drive. Communications from inspection office received and placed on file. Fine Reports dated 3/25/76 to 4/9/76 were received and placed on file for review by the Aldermen . April reports from Humane Officer were received and placed on file. Monthly reports of Police Department received and placed on file. Ald. Pienkos moved to approve, seconded by Ald. Schaumberg that two (2) "No Parking" signs between 12:00 P.M. and 2:00 P.M. be placed between S7678 and S7696 Pioneer Drive. Motion carried. Mayor Gottfried requested study by Police Department to place "Stop" signs at Parkland Mall exits. Ald. Schaumberg moved to adjourn, carried. Meeting adjourned at 8:58 P.M. seconded by Ald. Pienkos.
