MINUTES OF MEETING HELD APRIL 22, 1976
The meeting was called to order at 7:15 P.M. by Ald. Colburn. Also
present were Aldermen Wallner and Constantineau and Mayor Gottfried.
Ald. Constantineau requested that the committee consider installation
of the necessary speed limit signs on Field Drive. Ald. Colburn moved
to submit the request to the Police Department for review and recom-
mendation. Seconded by Ald. Wallner, motion carried.
Correspondence from the Building Inspection Department involving
violations of the Building Code and Zoning Ordinance, etc. were re-
viewed and placed on file.
Reports from the Tess Corners Fire Department for the period of Feb-
ruary 24 thru March 25, 1976, were received and placed on file.
The recommendation of the Police Department regarding the request for a
three-way "stop" at Bristlecone Lane and MacLen Drive was reviewed.
The report indicated that although a majority of homeowners in the
vicinity would prefer a 3-way stop, the Police Department felt Bristle -
cone should be a "Thru Street". Ald. Colburn moved to defer action
on the matter to the next meeting in order to give Ald. Pienkos an
opportunity to express his views on the matter. Seconded by Ald.
Wallner, motion carried.
The Police Department monthly report for March, 1976, was reviewed
and placed on file.
At the request of Ald. Constantineau the committee will request that
the Police Department review the speed limit on Racine Ave. from
Highway 24 to Hillendale Drive and to again attempt selective enforce-
ment of the existing speed limit. The Police Chief will be requested
to report back to committee at the next meeting.
The committee discussed Ald. Colburn's request for a street light
at the corner of Michi and Lake Drives. Ald. Colburn advised the
committee that because of the night activities taking place at the
school many youngsters use the street as they go home. The matter
was referred to the Superintendent of Schools in the hope that they
would cooperate in the erection of the necessary street light.
Ald. Colburn discussed with the committee the need for some form of
traffic control at the intersections of Lannon Dr. and Highway 24 and
Tess Corners Drive and Highway 24. The matter was deferred to the
• next meeting in order that the new committee members could be involved
in the discussion.
Ald. Ford requested consideration for "No Parking" signs at the end
of Silver Drive. The matter was referred to the Police Department
for review and recommendation.

to the development of bicycly trails in the city.
• Ald. Colburn requested the committee to give consideration to inviting
representatives of all snowmobile clubs in the area to a future meeting
to discuss mutual problems.
