PSM19751023PUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO MINUTES OF MEETING HELD OCTOBER 23, 1975 The meeting was called to order by Chairman Schaumberg at 7:30 P.M. Also present were Ald. Wallner, Police Chief Kraus and Mayor Gottfried. The committee reviewed the minutes of the previous meeting and placed same on file. Rescue Reports from the Tess Corners Fire Dept. from 8/16/75 thru 9/14/75 were reviewed. Thirty five (35) were received of which 28 were approved for payment and billing and seven (7) for payment only. The committee also reviewed the rescue reports from 9/17/75 thru 10/13/75. Twenty (20) reports were received of which 17 were approved for payment and billing and three (3) for payment only. Reports were placed on file. Mr. L. Constantineau, representing the Hillendale Heights Association, appeared to request that the subdivision be posted with a 25 mph speed limit. Also, that a "Stop" sign be placed at the intersection of Prospect Drive and Westlyn Drive requiring traffic on Prospect Drive to stop. The committee agreed to install the necessary speed sign along with an advisory curve sign near the intersection of Prospect Drive and Hickory Lane. Chief Kraus was directed to survey the area to determine the need for the requested stop sign. • A report from the Police Department regarding the requested 25 mph speed limit on Priegel Drive was discussed. Ald. Schaumberg moved to recommend Council approval of a resolution establishing a 25 mph speed limit on Priegel Drive. Seconded by Ald. Wallner, motion carried. The committee reviewed the report of the Police Department regarding a "stop" sign at the corner of High Bluff and Tans Drive. Ald. Wallner moved to recommend Council approval of a "stop" sign as recommended. Seconded by Ald. Schaumberg, motion carried. Chief Kraus presented a report on the need for the establishment of "No Parking11 zones in the vicinity of Hillendale Drive and Wentland Drive along with their recommendations. Ald. Schaumberg moved to defer action on the matter to give the Police Department an opportunity to contact the owner of the Kountry Korner Tavern regarding the recommendation. Seconded by Ald. Wallner, motion carried. Ald. Schaumberg moved to recommend to the Common Council the installation of street lights at the following locations: Flintlock Trail - Woods Rd. Racine Ave. - Apollo Dr. Flintlock Trail - Tess Corners Dr. Gemini Dr. - Racine Ave. Seconded by Ald. Wallner, motion carried. A communication was received from the State Department of Transportation regarding the city's request for traffic lights at several locations along Highway 24. The communication indicated that a survey will be made and the city advised. The report of the Police Department for September was received and placed on file. • The September report of the Humane Officet was received and placed on file. (Report contained 25 calls) Ald.
