MINUTES OF MEETING HELD ON MARCH 24, 1975
• The meeting was called to order at 7:50 P.M. by
Knudsen. Also present were Ald. Wallner, Mayor
Kraus. Chairman Ford arrived at 8:15 P.M.

Gottfried and Police Chief
Chief Kraus reported that he has contacted Mr. Fred Graves, Hillendale Dr.
and Mr. Dick Steingraeber, College Ave., regarding complaints of hunters.
Ald. Knudsen moved that Chief Kraus draft some proposed amendments to the
Firearms Ordinance for discussion at the next Safety Committee meeting.
Seconded by Ald. Wallner, motion carried.
Ald. Knudsen recommended to the Public Works Committee to install "Caution -
Horseback ridgers" and an advisory speed sign of 25 m.p.h. on Field Drive
as per Police Department survey. Seconded by Ald. Wallner, motion carried.
Mayor Gottfried to include information in next newsletter.
A discussion was held on the conditions of Field Drive and the committee
requested that the Public Works Committee review the matter to determine
what can be done to improve them.
The matter of parking in front of mailboxes on Pioneer Drive has been
resolved by the Police Department to the satisfaction of the residents.
•The committee discussed the possibility of "No Parking" signs on the
cul-de-sac at the end of Garnet Drive. Ald. Ford moved to refer the
matter to the Public Works Department, seconded by Ald. Wallner, motion
carried.
The committee received a report on boating regulations on several
surrounding lakes from Ald. Colburn. The matter was placed on file and
will be discussed at the next meeting.
The committee discussed the matter of automobile parking in front of
Lake View Gardens. A report from the police department indicating that
the owner will cooperate in improving the situation was received and
placed on file.
The request to have the city consider changing Onyx Drive to Silver Drive
was reviewed. It was the decision of the committee to recommend to the
Public Works Committee that steps be taken to clarify the location of
Silver Drive and Onyx Drive at their intersection with Diamond Drive.
The committee received a letter from the State Highway Commission regarding
the possibility of havag;the State paint crosswalks on certain locations
along S.T.H. 24. A communication advised the city that they did not have
the manpower to do the work, however, permission was granted for the city
• to proceed as they wished in the matter. The matter was referred to the
Public Works Committee.
Chief Kraus to check on whether or not the study regarding "Slow - Children
present" signs on Southern Drive between Martin Drive and Hedgewood Drive
has been completed.
• The committee reviewed -the Humans Officer's Report for the month of February.
