PSM197502030 PUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE
MINUTES OF MEETING HELD FEBRUARY 3, 1975.
The meeting was called to order at 8:15 P.M. by Chairman Ford. Also
present were Alderman Wallner and Police Chief Kraus.
Chairman Ford moved to recommend that the Common Council request the
State Highway Commission to paint the proper cross walks and install the
appropriate signs along highway 24, per the Muskego Police Department
report dated February 3, 1975. It is suggested that if the State Highway
Commission does not follow through on this request, the city should ask
permission to do the recommended work themselves. This should be consider-
ed a high priority project due to the ever increasing traffic along
Highway 24. Seconded by Alderman Wallner, motion carried.
Discussion of Gold Drive speed limit was deferred for two weeks.
Chairman Ford moved to recommend that Mayor Gottfried appoint a Building
Committee to begin interviewing architects for the proposed Police Station.
• Seconded by Alderman Wallner, motion carried.
The request by Mr, and Ms. Bleichrot for a street light at the intersection
of Agate Drive and Gold Drive was deferred for two weeks.
A complaint by Dick Steingraeber of the danger posed by people hunting and
shooting near his property was reviewed by the Committee. Chief Kraus will
check to see how many other similar complaints were made in the past year.
