PSM19740708PUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO MINUTES OF MEETING HELD JULY 8, 1974 • The meeting was called to order at 8:30 P.M. by Chairman Ford. Also present were Aldermen Wallner, Knudsen and. Colburn, Police Chief Kraus and Mayor Gottfried. • The committee to sendcopies of Police Department reports to NEMCA regarding • the following: Bedford - Bristlecone Hale Park Drive Bristlecone Lane Fennimore Lane Fleetwood Rd. Hale Park Dr. Bristle Cone Lane Camilla Ct. The committee concurs with the Police Department recommendation. Aid. Ford moved, seconded by Aid. Wallner that the Public Safety Committee recommend to the Common Council that the City of Muskego request the County and State Highway Commission to construct 30" wide bicycle lanes along both sides of Highway 24 and "Y" in those areas that do not have asphalt shoulders. These bicycle lanes should be specifically designated as such by law and should visibly be marked, with a yellow solid line separating them from automotive traffic. Motion carried. The committee is referring the matter of East Shore Lane being a sub -standard. street to the Public Works Committee. Aid. Knudsen moved to recommend, to Council the following street name changes: Hi-Y Drive west of Racine Ave. Hi-Y Drive east of Racine Ave. Simandl Drive east of Racine Ave. Seconded by Aid. Wallner, motion carried. to Williams Dr. to Simandl Lane to Simandl Ct. Aid.. Wallner moved., seconded by Aid. Ford., to recommend to the Finance Committee the creation of an additional position of patrolman. Motion carried. The committee discussed the location andplacement of buoys on Little Muskego Lake and Chief Kraus agreed to study the placement of buoys near Otto's Island.. Chief Kraus will complete plans for all lakes in the city as to buoy placement and will propose legislation for proper enforcement. •Aid. Knudsen moved, seconded by Aid. Ford, to recommend Council approval of street light installation at the intersection of Diamond. Drive, Gold. Drive and. School Drive. Motion carried. Aid. Wallner moved. to adjourn, seconded by Aid.
