MINUTES OF MEETING HELD JUNE 10, 1974
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Ford at 8:00 P.M. Also present
•ere Aid. Knudsen and Aid. Wallner and Police Chief Kraus.
The committee recommended to the Rules, Laws & Ordinance Committee to amend
Chapter 7 of the Mun. Code (Traffic Code) to Chapter 218 Laws of 1973.
The committee is recommendeding to the Rules, Laws & Ordinance Committee an
endment to Municipal Code 9.01 (2) (a) to read "No premise held open to the
iblic shall be use, etc............"
The committee is recommending that no action be taken on the Prospect and
Westlyn intersection survey.
The committee is recommending that the Rules, Laws & Ordinance Committee
propose an ordinance to change the "Yield sign at Prospect and Sunnyhill to
a "Stop" sign.
The committee discussed bicycle cost analysis and no action was taken.
A discussion took place regarding parking on Janesville Road in front of the
A & P Store. No action was taken at this time.
The committee discussed "No Parking" in front of the Muskego Elementary School.
Id. Ford moved to recommend the placing of such sign in front of the school.
is motion lost for lack of a second.
Aid. Knudsen moved, seconded by Aid. Wallner, that the Common Council rescind
action taken on Resolution #56-74, Establishing Traffic Regulations in the
Vicinity of Bay Lane, Vine and Bellview Drive. Motion carried.
It was also suggested that the city vacate by-pass at Vine and Bellview and
possibly widen the street. Committee is to review before the next meeting.
The committee received a communication from NEMCA regarding Bristlecone Lane
name change and that the matter of the Fennimore - Saroyan intersection traffic
request be referred to Chief Kuaus for recommendation.
Aid. Knudsen moved, seconded by Aid. Wallner, to recommend to the Common
Council that the new Cornell Drive to be named Cornell Circle. Motion carried.
Chief Kraus reported to the committee on the month of May liquor license
enforcement.
The committee is recommended to the Public Works Committee that city -owned pit
properties be posted for "No Trespassing".
We committee reviewed 25 Rescue Reports. Twenty (20) were approved for payment
and billing and five (5) for payment only.
The committee discussed street name changes in Hi-Y Subdivision. Action was
deferred on this matter until the next meeting.
d. Knudsen moved to recommend that the Public Works Committee investigate
1-de-sacs at the end of Simandl Dr. Seconded by Aid. Wallner, motion carried.
Aid. Knudsen moved that Tower Drive name change be discussed at the next meet-
ing. Concerned citizens to be invited to attend. Seconded by Aid. Wallner,
motion carried.
Aid. Ford moved that the Committee recommend to the Finance Committee that
Chief Kraus be allowed to attend a one -week FBI Training Session in Washington
D. C. on July 29th, 1974.
