PSM19731129PUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO • MINUTES OF MEETING HELD NOVEMBER 29, 1973 The meeting was called to order at 7:25 P.M. by Chairman Foldy. Also present were Aldermen Czarnecki, Wallner and Mayor Gottfried and Police Chief Kraus. The meeting which was scheduled for November 15, 1973, had been cancelled due to Chamber of Commerce "Get Acquainted Night". Ald. Foldy moved to recommend to Common Council the adoption of a new resolution concerning the "No Parking" restrictions at Highway 24 and Tess Corners Drive and Highway 24 and Westwood Drive with correct distances. Seconded by Ald. Wallner, motion carried. The committee received the water patrol report from Chief Kraus. Same placed on file. Chief Kraus's recommendation that a resolution revising the rank structure of the Muskego Police Department be presented for Council approval was deferred for two weeks. Mayor Gottfried to contact City Attorney Buckley. Ald. Czarnecki moved to recommend approval of the expenditures of $15.00 to have Officer Bill J. Meeks attend a Police Artist School during the week of January 14 thru 18th, 1974. Seconded by Ald. Wallner, motion carried. Ald. Wallner moved to recommend to Finance Committee to create position of police cadet at $6,000.00 for 1974. Seconded by Ald. Czarnecki, motion carried. Ald. Wallner moved to refer without recommendation to the Rules, Laws & Ordinance Committee the proposed amendment to the ordinance regulating animals which would impose a $20.00 fee for animals kept in quarantine. Seconded by Ald. Czarnecki, motion carried. Ald. Foldy moved to recommend to Common Council the adoption of a resolution urging the State to reconstruct Highway 24 from Milwaukee County line west to College Ave. as presence in their latest communication to the city. The committee reviewed Rescue Reports from 10/21/73 to 11/8/73. Fourteen (14) reports were approved for payment and billing and one (1) for payment only. The committee reviewed 54 Humane Officer Reports from 10/1/73 to 10/31/73 and forty five (45) reports from 9/l/73 and 9/29/73. Same placed on file. The Tess Corners Fire Dept. Reports were reviewed. Nineteen (19) fire runs • were reported from 7/18/73 to 11/6/73. Same placed on file. • Ald. Foldy moved to adjourn, seconded by Ald. Czarnecki, motion carried. The meeting adjourned at 9:00 P.M.
