PSM19731011PUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE — CITY OF MUSKEGO MINUTES OF MEETING HELD OCTOBER 11,1973 The meeting was called to order at 7:10 P.M. by Chairman Foldy. Also present were Aldermen Czarnecki, Wallner, Knudsen, Schaumberg, Mayor Gottfried, Police Chief Kraus and Mr. Richard Schaumberg. 116 The minutes of the previous meeting were reviewed and placed on file. A discussion took place regarding "No parking" restrictions at the intersection of CTH 24 and Tess Corners Drive.Chief Kraus will review and report back to Safety Committee at the next meeting. A communication was received from Mr. T.R. Kinsey, Dist. Engineer, State Highway Commission. The results of a study which was completed recently indicated that a reduction in the speed limit on Hwy 24 was warranted. The speed limit has now been reduced from 45 mph to 35 mph in the vincity of that intersection. Another communication from Mayor Gottfried, directed to Mr. Kinsey, dated 10/11/73, re— garding the same subject reviewed and placed on file. Communication from Police Chief Kraus, regarding boat direction and excessive motor boat noise referred to Rules Laws & Ordinance Committee. • The committee reviewed 50 humane officer reports from 9/1/73 to 9/29/73, same placed on file. • Discussion was held regarding emergency police powers and duties of officers. Letter received from Mr. and Mrs. Rupert Mattice, Milwaukee, commending rescue squad for prompt service received and placed on file. Aid. Wallner moved to recommend the amendment of Ordinance 9.17 to Rules, Laws & Ordinance Committee. Seconded by Aid. Czarnecki, motion carried. Chief Kraus reported on a noise survey of trucks on Hwy "Y". Observed truck noise ranged from 62 DBs to 86 DBs — State law limits over 86 DBIs one ill speeding violation and no spillage. The Muskego Police Department reporto for the month of September 1973, was reviewed and placed on file. Aid. Wallner moved to adjourn, seconded by Aid. Czarnecki, motion carried.
