MINUTES OF MEETING HELD SEPTEMBER 13, 1973
The meeting was called to order at 7:15 P.M. by Chairman Foldy.
Also present were Aldermen Czarnecki, Wallner, Knudsen and Chief
Kraus.
The minutes of the previous meeting were reviewed and placed on
file.
Mr. and Mrs. H. Herzberg and Mr. and Mrs.. Desnica appeared at
the meeting to oppose the changiAg.of the name of a portion of
Southern Drive to Hedgewood Drive. After discussion with the
committee and Chief Kraus they did agree to the name change and
Ald. Czarnecki moved to have the effective date of the change
to be January 1, 1974. Seconded by Ald. Wallner, motion carried.
Mr. L. Schmidt, Dan Gaszak, Ken Henrichs and Ray Kreuzer appeared
at the meeting regarding truck noise and speed mufflers and to
request a sign "Slow - Children" sign on Racine Avenue between
Highway 24 and Hillendale Drive. Police Chief Kraus to check on
this problem and also with the Waukesha County Highway Dept. as
to the possibility of Crowbar Drive becoming a County Highway.
• The committee reviewed the potential traffic hazard at the inter-
section of Highway 24 and Tess Corners Drive. It was the decision
of the committee to invite property owners in the immediate
vicinity to the next meeting for the purpose of discussing a
possible solution.
Chief Kraus to make recommendation on the vision problem at the
intersection of Glenbrook Dr. and College Ave.
Ald. Wallner moved to recommend Council approval of a resolution
indicating to Waukesha �'ounty Highway Commission the need to re-
duce the speed limit from 65 mph to 50 mph south of S.T.H. 24
to a point south of the High School.. Seconded by Ald. Czarnecki,
motion carried.
Chief Kraus to review and make recommendation to the committee on
the placement of "Speed Zone" signs on Center Drive. He will also
review the possibility of placing "Slow - Children Present" and
"speed" Signs on Schubring Drive.
Chief Kraus to review and report back to the committee the parking
of trailers and salvage cars on Gold Drive.
The committee reviewed the Rescue Repbrts from 7/16/73 to 8/9/73
and all 31 reports were approved for payment and billing.
• Ald. Czarnecki moved to adjourn, seconded by Ald. Wallner, motion
carried. The meeting adjourned at 9:00 P.M.
