• MINUTES OF MEETING HELD AUGUST 16, 1973
The meeting was called to order at 7:00 P.M. by Chairman Foldy. Also
present were Aldermen Wallner, Knudsen and Mayor Gottfried.
The minutes of the previous meeting were reviewed and placed on file.
They were corrected to show 33 Rescue Reports for payment and billing
and 3 for payment only.
• The report of vehicles and motorcycles creating a nuisance in the vicinity
of Tans Drive and Racine Avenue will be reviewed at the next meeting.
Ald. Wallner moved to install street light at the end of Hillview Drive.
The motion lost for lack of a second. Ald. Foldy reported that it is
his recommendation to install a reflectorized "Dead End" sign midway
down the hill. The matter will be further reviewed at the next meeting.
The request of lake park lot locations belonging to the city is still
pending.
Ald. Wallner requested in the name of the Fire Department a street light
at the intersection of Racine Avenue and DeBack Drive. Since Chief Martin
plans to appear at the next meeting the matter was deferred.
• The request from National Savings and Loan for a "No Parking" sign from
on the west side of Pioneer Drive from Kelley's Driveway north to S.T.H. 24
was referred to the Police Department.
Ald. Knudsen suggested a study be made of the intersection of Hwy "Y"
and Highway 24 because of the recent accidents to determine the need for
traffic lights. Since the recent study of AAA did not suggest traffic
lights on Tess Corners Drive and Hwy. 24 and Lannon Drive and Hwy. 24
the committee felt the request would be fruitless. Ald. Knudsen indicated
his intent to pursue the matter.
The proposed street name changes of Southern Heights Drive to Hedgewood
Drive was discussed. Ald. Foldy moved to advise the residents that thed
changes would take place on January 1 or May 1 to make the necessary
changes on stationery, etc. Seconded by Ald. Wallner, motion carried.
Mayor Gottfried to advise the residents.
The Police Department Report for July was received and placed on file.
As a result of numerous requests for "No Parking" signs in the vicinity
of city -owned parks the committee will view the areas.
• The following correspondence was received:
From Wisconsin Electric Power Company regarding the cost of removing street
lights. Mayor Gottfried to correspond with the Electric Company regarding
the policy on replacing existing street lights.
The Police Department request for approval of the attendance of Lt. Scholz
and Chief Kraus at a training session was referred to Finance Committee
• with a recommendation for approval.
Ald. Wallner moved to recommend to the Public Works Committee that they
investigate the need for asphalt turnings at the entrance to city hall.
Ald. Foldy seconded the motion and it carried.
Ald. Wallner moved to adjourn, seconded by Ald. Foldy. Motion carried.
The meeting adjourned at 9:47 P.M.
