• MINUTES OF MEETING HELD MARCH 29, 1973
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Cole at 9:10 P.M. Also present
were Aldermen Ford, DeBack and Foldy and Chief Kraus
Chief Kraus reported to the committee that truckers have been informed
regarding their use of Tans Drive and are using other roads now.
• The Police Dept. has not completed their study of Durham Drive concerning
a more uniform speed limit.
The Public Works Committee has requested a "Yield" sign on Kipling drive
at its intersection with Camilla Dr. be installed. Aid. DeBack moved to
recommend to the Rules, Laws & Ordinance Committee and to the Common
Council the placement of a "Yield" sign on Kipling at its intersection
with Camilla Dr. Seconded by Aid. Ford, motion carried.
Aid. Ford moved to recommend to the Rules, Laws & Ordinance Committee
that a resolution be adoptAd making the speed limit on Pioneer Drive
40 mph between Tower Drive south to C.T.H. "Y" (Racine Ave.) and 30 mph
from Tower Drive north to Janesville Road. Seconded by Aid. DeBack,
motion carried.
• Aid. Ford moved to recommend to the Public Works Superintendent that he
erect a reflecter type "Curve - Warning" sign in front of 56781 Kipling
Drive. Seconded by Aid. DeBack. Motion carried.
Police Chief Kraus reported that the State is studying the interection
of C.T.H. "Y" and S.T.H. 24 for changes.
A discussion was deferred regarding Police Dept. positions until the
next meeting of the committee.
Aid. Foldy requested an accident study on S.T.H. 24 from the Milwaukee -
Waukesha County Line to Tess Corners.
A communication was received from Sentry Insurance Co. Same referred
to Gerald Lee.
The February Police Dept. Monthly Report was reviewed and placed on file.
Forty six (46) Rescue Reports were received for the period from 1/17/73 to
3/16/73. Thirty eight (38) were recommended for payment and bill, seven
(7) for payment only and one (1) no payment or billing.
• A request for street lighting east of Lannon Dr. to Parkland was received
Mr. Sam Lawent. The Police Dept. will study the area for possible changes.
A request was received for a street light at the intersection of Westlyn
and Prospect Drive.
A request was received for a street light at the intersection of Muskego
Drive and the entrance to Idle Isle. The committee will view the area.
A letter was received and placed on file from Mrs. Virginia Peterson.
Aid. DeBack moved to recommend that the Mayor appoint George Schields
to the Emergency Police Unit. Seconded by Aid. Ford. Motion carried.
Aid. DeBack moved to adjourn. Seconded by Aid. Ford. Motion carried.
The meeting adjourned at 8:15 P.M.
