PSM19721026PUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO MINUTES OF MEETING HELD OCTOBER 26, 1972 • Chairman Cole called the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M. Also present were Alderman Ford and Police Chief Kraus. Chief Kraus reported that the State of Wisconsin is phasing out the use of "Speed Zone Ahead" signs except where there are drastic reductions in speed. Since the reduction entering Tess Corners is only from 50 mph • to 35 mph, the State will not consider a "Speed Zone Ahead" sign for that area. Ald. Ford reported that the Public Works Committee agreed to have Supt. Bertram repair some barricades and paint them with reflective paint for the use of the Police Department. Ald. Cole reported a request by Ald. Knudsen that the Safety Committee take whatever steps necessary to have a stop light placed at the inter- section of Racine Ave. and S.T.H. 24. Chief Kraus agreed to contact the State regarding this matter. The new 1973 State Snowmobile Law was presented to the Committee by Chief Kraus who pointed out the differences between it and our present city ordinance. It was Chief Kraus's recommendation that the Safety Committee •recommend to the Rules, Laws & Ordinance Committee the adoption of the 1973 State of Wisconsin Snowmobile Laws by reference. Ald. Cole moved to do so, seconded by Ald. Ford, motion carried. n U Chief Kraus reported on the progress of the Emergency Police. Fifteen (15) Rescue Reports by the Tess Corners Fire Dept. for the period of 9/23/72 thru 10/15/72 were reviewed. Thirteen (13) were approved for payment and billing and two (2) for payment only. A note was received from Mrs. John Sobczak complimenting the Tess Corners Fire Dept. for rescue service received. Ald. Ford moved to adjourn, seconded by Ald. Cole, motion carried.
