PSM19720810• PUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO MINUTES OF MEETING HELD AUGUST 10, 1972 The meeting was called to order at 7:15 P.M. by Chairman Sapp. Also present were Aldermen Ford and Knudsen, Police Chief Kraus and Mayor Gottfried. • Mr. Rene Steckel, an employee of Denoon Beach, and other employees of Denoon Beach and nearby residents, appeared to discuss violations of the city's Boating Ordinance, specifically, 1. Boats cutting through swimming area which is designated by buoys 2. Lack of adequate patrolling. He expressed concern over what appears to be a lack of enforcement of the city's ordinance. He also questioned whether or not there is adequate patrolling on the lake. Mrs. S. Lewandowski appeared regarding the misuse of the extension of Park Drive by people. She advised the Committee that the "No picnicing is and "No Swimming" signs are still not up. The minutes of July 13, 1972, were corrected to show that Ald. Knudsen was in attendance. A discussion was held with Police Chief Kraus regarding the operation manual for the Emergency Police Unit. Following the discussion, Ald. Ford moved to approve the manual. Seconded by Ald. Sapp. Motion carried. Police Chief Kraus requested permission to send his officers and dispatchers to an in-service training program conducted by the Wauk- esha County Chief of Police Association. Ald. Ford moved to recommend to the Finance Committee approval of this request. Seconded by Ald. Sapp. Motion carried. Twenty (20) Tess Corners Fire Dept. Reports were presented from March 23rd through June 15, 1972. Fifty Eight (58) Rescue Reports by the Tess Corners Fire Dept. were reviewed (May 14th thru July 14, 1972). Fifty six (56) were approved for payment and billing,and two (2) for payment only. • Ald. Ford moved to adjourn. Seconded by Ald. Sapp. Motion carried. The meeting adjourned at 9:30 P.M.
