PSM19720511. SAFETY COMMITTEE — MEETING HELD MAY 11, 1972
Meeting called to order 7:15 P.M., present; Aid. Sapp, Ford, Knudsen, Mayor Gottfried
and Lt. Zabel.
Minutes of previous meeting were reviewed and placed on file.
Chairman Sapp reviewed the following matters for the benefits of the new aldermen:
a) The auxiliary police situation.
b) The Women's Club request to use the old City Hall.
The following matters were discussed with no action taken:
a1 Model parade ordinance.
b) The placement of stop signs on Gold Drive.
c) "No Parking" situation on College Ave (Mayor Gottfried stated that Mr. A.
Rosecky is surveying local people's opinions on the matter).
The controversy over the placement of stop signs vs advisory speed signs on Somerset
Drive was discussed having been referred to Public Safety from Public Works. It was
decided that we request Aid. Foldy to furnish us with the names of those objecting to
the present placement of signs.
Correspondence was received from Chief Kraus regarding the intersection of Hillendale
and Field Drive. Since there has been no record of any accidents there and since the
40 proposed change by Chief Kraus was felt to be no better than the existing intersection
and because of the topography of the area, the committee decided to take no action to—
ward changing the intersection.
Correspondence was received from Chief Kraus regarding possible involvement by Muskego
with the County Humane Shelter. It was agreed that Muskego should not join that group
at this time.
Alderman Ford moved that the Public Works Dept. place 25 MPH signs on Gold Drive, Aid.
Sapp seconded, motion carried.
A letter was read from Engr. Barry regarding rifle fire near Bay Lawn Subdivision. The
matter was referred to the Police Dept.
The Police Report was read and placed on file.
The Muskego Volunteer Fire Dept. reported 19 fire calls from 1/8/72 to 3/20/72. Report
placed on fie.
Eighteen (18) Tess Corners Rescue Reports form 3/16/72 to 4/14/72 were reviewed. Fifteen
(15) were recommended for payment and billing, three (3) for payment only.
Aid. Ford moved to adjourn, seconded by Aid. Sapp. The meeting adjourned at 8:50 P.M.
