PSM19710916PUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO + MINUTES OF MEETING HELD SEPTEMBER 16, 1971 The meeting was called to order by Chairman Sapp at 7:15 P.M. Also present were Aldermen Dumke, Schaumberg, Narlock and Foldy. Mayor Gottfried, Police Chief Kraus and Building Inspector Lee. Minutes of the meeting held on August 26, 1971, were reviewed and placed on file. Ald. Sapp moved, as seconded by Ald. Schaumberg, to recommend to the Rules, Laws & Ordinance Committee that Gold Drive be an arterial street in accordance with Police Dept. recommendation except the placement of a "Stop" sign in place of a "Yield" sign for eastbound traffic on Lembezeder Dr. at Gold Dr. Motion carried. Ald. Schaumberg moved, as seconded by Ald. Dumke to defer action on proposed ordinance pertaining to parades and risidential picketing. Ald. Dumke moved to defer action on the placement of "Stop" signs on Somerset Drive until the road construction is completed. Seconded by Ald. Sapp. Motion carried. Ald. Schaumberg moved to recommend to the Rules, Laws & Ordinance Committee to set a mph speed limit on Field Drive. Seconded by Ald. Dumke, moti-66 carried. Ald. Sapp moved to recommend to the Public Works Committee the installation of signs on Westwood Dr. in accordance to Police Dept. recommendations. Also to place center striping on curve. The Police Dept. Report for the month of August was reviewed and placed on file. Correspondence was received from County Highway Commissioner Demshar regarding the construction of C.T.H. "00" in answer to the Fire Dept.'s service of that area. The Committee reviewed the Building Inspection Dept.'s proposed 1972 Budget. Ald. Schaumberg moved to adjourn. Seconded by Aid. Dumke. The Committee agreed to again review the budget on October 11, 1971, at 7:00 P.M. in Chief Kraus's office. Ald. Schaumberg moved to adjourn. Seconded by Ald. Dumke. Motion carried.
