PSM19710513PUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO MINUTES OF MEETING HELD MAY 139 1971 The meeting was called to order at 6:40 P.M. by Chairman Sapp. Also present were Ald. Dumke and Mayor Gottfried. The minutes of the previous meeting were approved and placed on file. iChairman Sapp advised that the recommendation from the Safety Committee to the Public Works Committee regarding traffic control sign on Lions Park Drive and Oak Grove Drive has not been acted upon by the Public Works Committee. Chairman Burgermeister will be contacted. Police Department Report for month of April, 1971, was reviewed and placed on file. Muskego Volunteer Fire Department Report containing 47 activities from 6/29/70 to 4/14-71 was received. Tess Corners Rescue Reports from 3/17/71 to 4/15/71, were reviewed. Twelve were approved for payment and billing and two for payment only. A letter was received from several residents in the Hi -View Acres • Subdivision, requesting a stop sign on the corner of Acker Drive and Hi -View Drive. Ald. Dumke moved to refer this request to the Police Dept. for investigation and recommendation. Seconded by Ald. Sapp. Motion carried. Chief Kraus reported that Ken -Cam has offered to service all radios and sirens (Police Dept.) for a cost of $320.00 per month. This was the lowest of all quotations received. This compares to a present cost of $260.00 per month. Representatives of the Tess Corners and Muskego Fire Departments appeared at the meeting to discuss the advisability of having all radios maintained by the same company. It was the consensus of opinion that it would be to the best advantage for all to enter into a contract with Ken-Com. Representatives of Ken -Cam appeared to discuss the proposed contract and answered several questions relating to it. The next order of business was the discussion of the needs for a fire department sub -station in the Durham Hill area. The Tess Comers Fire Dept. requested that a new zoning petition for the • Shy property be initiated. After a great deal of discussion, it was agreed that members of the Fire Department will contact the concerned citizens in the area prior to the public hearing. 40 There being no further business, Ald.
