PSM19710128PUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO • MINUTES OF MEETING HELD JANUARY 28, 1971 Chairman Sapp called the meeting to order at 7:20 P.M. Also present were Aldermen DeBack and Foldy. The Minutes of the previous meeting were reviewed and placed on file. Ten (10) Tess Corners Fire Reports from October 3, 1970, to December 29, 1970, were approved and placed on file. Seventeen (17) Tess Corners Rescue Squad Reports were reviewed covering period from December 19, 1970, to January 11, 1971, Fifteen were approved for billing and payment. Two were approved for payment only. A memo from Paul DeAngelis suggesting a flashing light on Highway "Y" at its intersection with Highway "24" was reviewed and referred to the traffic division of the Police Department. A memo from Mayor Gottfried directed to City Attorney Buckley regarding the erection of "no parking" signs on College Avenue, was reviewed. Committee will await Attorney Buckley's opinion. • A copy of a communication from Building Inspector Lee to City Attorney Buckley regarding the razing of the building at S74 W17676 Lake Drive, was reviewed and placed on file. Ald. DeBack moved to recommend approval of the contract with the Tess' Corners Fire Department for rescue service for 1971. Seconded by Ald. Foldy. Motion carried. Several Burning Ordinances from surrounding communities were reviewed and it was the consensus of opinion that our ordinance, Ch. 9.22, covered the burning of garbage and other putrid material quite well. The new Wisconsin Boat Toilet Law regarding disposal of waste from boats equipped with toilets was reviewed and placed on file. The Statute is covered in our ordinance by reference. A request from the Police Department to draft an ordinance allowing school buses to flash their red lights when stopped for students on streets having curbs and gutters was reviewed. Foldy moved to refer same to the Rules, Laws & Ordinance. Seconded by DeBack. Motion carried. Request from Police Department to change the wording in the Trespass Ordinance, Ch. 924(2) was reviewed. DeBack moved to refer to the Rules, Laws & Ordinance Committee. Seconded by Ald. Sapp. Motion carried. Ald. DeBack moved to adjourn. Seconded by Ald. Foldy. Motion carried.
