PSM19710114PUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO • MINUTES OF MEETING HELD JANUARY 14, 1971 Chairman Sapp called the meeting to order at 7:05 P.M. Also present were Mayor Gottfried, Aldermen DeBack and Foldy, Police Chief Kraus, Fire Chief Utpatel of the Tess Corners Volunteer Fire Dept. and Fire Chief Ludwig of the Muskego Volunteer Fire Co. . The minutes of the previous meeting were reviewed and placed on file. Foldy moved to recommend a 25 mile per hour speed limit on Lions Park Drive and a "Yield" sign at the intersection of Oak Grove with Lions Park Drive with appropriate lane marking. Seconded by Ald. DeBack. Motion carried. Chairman Sapp read correspondence from Officer Ron Feuer requesting a one year re-employment opportunity. He is leaving the force to take a. position with the State Bureau of Criminal Investigation. Foldy moved to place him on the eligibility list for one year beginning January 1, 1971. Seconded by Ald. DeBack. Motion carried. The maintenance of the various radio systems used by the Police Dept the Highway Dept. and the two Fire Departments was reviewed. It was • agreed that one maintenance contract for all systems might be more economical and practical than separate contracts. Chief Kraus will investigate comparative costs and report back to the Committee. • Chairman Sapp moved to recommend that the Finance Committee award the Radar Maintenance Contract for one year to Stark Co. Seconded by Ald. DeBack. Motion carried. The Inspection Report from the Dept. of Industry, Labor and Human Relations containing 21 violations observed in the City Hall Building were reviewed and Ald. DeBack moved to refer this to the Public Welfare Committee. Police Dept. Report for December, 1970, was reviewed and placed on file. Nineteen (19) Tess Corners Rescue Squad Reports from 11/2/70 to 12/15/70 were reviewed. Sixteen (16) were approved for payment and billing, two (2) were approved for billing only and one (1) no billing and no payment. Ald. DeBack moved for adjournment at 8:00 P.M.
