PSM19701112PUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO
• MINUTES OF MEETING HELD NOVEMBER 12, 1970
Chairman Sapp called the meeting to order at 7:10 P.M. Also present
were Mayor Gottfried and Alderman Foldy.
Minutes of the previous meeting were reviewed, and placed on file.
Police Dept. Report for October was reviewed and placed on file.
40 The Police Dept. has investigated the need for a sign at the curve on
Acker Drive and upon their recommendation this was referred to the
Public Works Dept. to place the sign.
The Mayor's request for fire safety precautions for multiple family
dwellings was investigated. Work on this is being carried on by
Inspector Robb, Chief Utpatel of the Tess Corners Fire Dept. and Carl
Mack of the Muskego Fire Department.
The Committee recommended and included in the Police Dept. Budget $1,300.00
to provide security windows and door for the police station.
The Police Dept. request for house numbers on the lake side of lake
• property was reviewed. It was felt that this was not necessary at
this time and the request was placed on file.
The Police Dept. request for city-wide trash pickup was reviewed and
it was the Committee's decision that this would not be economically
feasible at this time. The request was placed on file. Since the
city-wide trash pickup request was generated by complaints about
burning of trash, etc., the Committee will investigate trash burning
ordinances of surrounding communities to see what improvements can
be made in our ordinance. It was suggested that Muskego residents
be urged to dispose of trash, clippings, garbage, etc. at our City
Dump. The City is paying for the operation of the dump and the owner
has improved the facilities to where it is fairly attractive and
convenient to use.
Ald. Sapp moved for the placement of a street light at Hi-Y Drive
and Racine Ave. Foldy seconded. Motion carried.
Foldy moved to adjourn. Seconded by Sapp. Motion carried. The
meeting adjourned at 7:55 P.M.
• Respectfully su mitted,
Charles Foldy, Sec'y.
