• MINUTES OF MEETING HELD SEPTEMBER 24, 1970
Ald. Sapp called the meeting to order at 9:20 P.M. Also present were
Aldermen DeBack and Foldy and Mayor Gottfried.
Building Inspector Lee presented his department's budget request.
Police Chief Kraus presented his department's budget request.
The two budgets were reviewed until 12:20 A.M. when on a motion by
Ald. DeBack the meeting was recessed until September 29, 1970, at
7:30 P.M. Seconded by Foldy, motion carried.
On September 29, 1970, at 7:45 P.M. the meeting was reconvened.
Present were Aldermen Sapp, DeBack and Foldy and Mayor Gottfried.
The Police Dept. Report was reviewed and placed on file.

Civil Defense Budget was reviewed and due to full time police coverage
was questioned as to need. Mayor Gottfried will investigate.
Building Inspector's Budget was reviewed and recommended to Finance
Committee with following changes: Building Inspector's salary
$11,395.00, broken down as $7,295.00 for Building Inspector and
$4,100.00 as Zoning Officer.
Deputy Building Inspector $10,895.00.
Clerical salary is not settled until job classifications and related
salary are finalized by Finance Committee.
City Hall -Annex Budget was reviewed and recommended to Finance Committee
with following changes: Acct. # 351.012 removed from budget hnd includ-
ed in City Hall Budget. Janitorial services reduced from $600.00
to $450.00.
Police Budget $241,268.00 including Youth Patrolman, a replacement and
one new patrolman is recommended to Finance Committee.
Ald. DeBack moved to adjourn. Seconded on Foldy. Motion carried. The
• meeting adjourned at 12:20 P.M.
