PSM19700813PUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO • MINUTES OF MEETING HELD AUGUST AUGUST 13, 1970 The meeting was called to order at 7:28 by Chairman Sapp. Also present were Aldermen DeBack and Foldy and Mayor Gottfried. Minutes of meeting held on July 23, 1970, were reviewed and placed on file. •Police Dept. Report for the month of July were reviewed and placed on file. Request by George Trepanier to continue Civil Defense telephone service was reviewed. Ald. Sapp moved to approve request and arrange to list the Civil Defense telephone number in the directory under "Muskego - City of". Sec- onded by Ald. DeBack. Motion carried. Request for street light at corner of Jewel Crest Dr. and Diamond Dr. was reviewed. The policy of the city is to place street lights at selected highway intersections and not at subdivision roads. Ald. Foldy moved to deny request. Seconded by Ald. DeBack. Motion carried. Request for street light at intersection of Tans Drive and new Highway "Y" •was reviewed. Ald. Sapp moved to recommend approval of request. Seconded by Ald. Foldy. Motion carried. Mayor Gottfried will meet with Tess Corners Fire Dept. to review Mr. Ervin Browne's request to waive charges for Rescue Squad call. Chief Kraus joined the meeting at 7:45 P.M. Gun Ordinance 9.01 was reviewed. Ald. DeBack moved to delete Para 9.01(C) and to change Para 9.01(D) to Para 9.01 (C). Seconded by Ald. Foldy. Motion carried. If approved, this change will forbid the use of 22 caliber rifles or pistols using rim -fired cartridges within the city limits. Chief Kraus recommended and Ald. Sapp moved to recommend to Rules, Laws & Ordinance Committee the adoption of the Omnibus Crime Bill Ordinance which provides minimum requirements and standards for police officers. Seconded by Ald. DeBack. Motion carried. Recommendations for improvement of Lannon Drive Blvd, portion by the Police Dept. Traffic Section were reviewed. Ald. Sapp moved to recommend the proposal which would not require cutting down of the trees. Seconded by Ald. Foldy. Motion carried. • Ald. Foldy moved for adjournment. Seconded by Ald.
