PUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO
• MINUTES OF MEETING HELD NOVEMBER 19, 1969
The meeting was called to order by Chairman O'Connell at 7:45 P.M.
Also present were Aldermen Burgermeister, Wollman and Sapp and Building
Inspector Lee.
' The minutes of the previous meeting held on November 5, 1969, were
reviewed and placed on file.
Ald. Burgermeister advised the Committee of the action the Rules, Laws
& Ordinance Committee is taking regarding the updating of the Public
Water and Beach Ordinance and the Firearms Ordinance.
Correspondence from the Building Inspector's Office was reviewed. Mr.
Lee advised the Committee of a Building and Zoning Ordinance violation
by Mr. Estel Ellery, W163 57935 Bay Lane Place, dating back to October 8,
1968. The Committee advised Mr. Lee to appear at the Common Council
meeting on November 25, 1969, to request action of the Council.
Building Inspector Lee reviewed proposed changes to the Plumbing Code
IS as requested by himself and Plumbing Inspector Robb. The Committee
will review the requested changes and action will be taken at a future
meeting.
Mr. R. A. Lainey, owner of a summer home at Little Muskego Lake,
appeared to register a complaint against a neighbor, who he claims
has changed the topography of the land. Chairman O'Connell suggested
that Mr. Lainey take legal action against the adjoining property
owner. Mr. Lainey stated that he felt it was the City's responsibility
to enforce the ordinance. Chairman O'Connell moved to instruct the
Building Inspector to issue an order prohibiting additional fill,on'the
Merkt property. Seconded by Ald. Wollman. Motion carried. Chairman
O'Connell will contact City Attorney Buckley to determine the City's
position in this matter.
Ald. Wollman moved to recess in order that the members of this Committee
be free to attend another meeting. Seconded by Ald. Sapp. The meeting
recessed at 9:45 P.M.
The meeting reconvened at 11:30 P.M.
The streeting lighting along the new Highway "Y" and the existing
street lights on Lannon Dr. and Muskego Dr. were discussed. Ald. Sapp
moved that the Committee view these areas immediately following the
Common Council meeting on November 25, 1969. Seconded by Chairman
O'Connell. Motion carried.
Ald. Wollman moved to adjourn. Seconded by Ald. Sapp. Motion carried.
The meeting adjourned at 11:45 P.M.
