PSM19691008PUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO • MINUTES OF MEETING H$LD OCTOBER 8, 1969 The meeting was called to order at 8:20 P.M. by Chairman O'Connell. Also present were Aldermen Burgermeister, Wollman and Sapp. The minutes of the previous meeting held on September 24, 1969 were reviewed and placed on file. The matter of additional street lights requested at Highway 24 between Lannon and Bellview, Jewel Crest Drive between Ruby and Diamond, and also at the City entrance signs on Highway 24 at College and Crowbar, was discussed. Action was deferred on the Highway 24 request as the Committee felt that this area did not warrant additional lights at this time. Action was deferred on the Jewel Crest Drive request because this area is in a subdivision, which the City had previously decided not to light. Action was also deferred on the City entrance signs as the Committee could not justify spending money in this manner and refusing the others. The one-way traffic signs on Jewel Crest Drive at the intersection of Ruby Drive, were discussed and in the judgement of the Committee, were found to be satisfactory. It was the decision of the Committee •to refer to the Public Works Committee, this Committee's request for a sign indicating the curve on Jewel Crest Drive near Ruby Drive. The billing of Tess Corners Rescue calls was reviewed. Chairman O'Connell moved to advise the City Clerk not to bill victims unless the rescue call report indicated that the party was transported to the hospital, doctor's office or other facility. Seconded by Ald. Wollman. Motion carried. Six Tess Corners Fire Dept. reports were reviewed and placed on file. Twenty four Tess Corners Rescue call reports were reviewed and approved for payment, with twenty two being approved for billing to the victims. Ald. Burgermeister asked that the Committee request that the Public Works Committee have the necessary "No Parking" signs installed at Jensen Recreation as per the Police Department request dated September 4, 1969. Ald. Wollman will advise them of this request. Ald. Burgermeister requested that Ald. Wollman also advise the Public Works Dept. to install the necessary stop sign at Hiawatha Drive at the intersection with Muskego Drive. • Building Inspector Lee appeared to answer any questions that the Committee might have regarding his 1970 Budget. Ald. Sapp moved to adjourn, seconded by Ald. Wollman. Motion carried. The meeting adjourned at 9:50 P.M. Respectfully submitted, Lois Sapp, Sec y. PUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE LS/je
