MINUTES OF MEETING HELD MAY 21, 1969 at
The meeting was called to order at 8:10 P.M. by Chairman Sapp.
Also present were Aldermen Wollman, Burgermeister, Narlock, Cooley and
Mayor Wieselmann. Also present were the members of the Police and Fire
Commission.
An informal discussion with the Police and Fire Commission was held.
They requested that the Council appropriate funds for a new Police
Dept. eligibility list and that the Council take a careful look at the
Police Dept. work load and do something to furnish more manpower. Motion
by Cooley, seconded by Wollman to recommend to the Finance Committee
that $2,785.00 be appropriated for a new eligibility list. Motion
carried.
The Minutes of the previous meeting were reviewed, discussed and placed
on file.
"No Parking" signs on Muskego Dam Road were discussed again. The
Committee is still waiting for an opinion from the City Attorney.
• Ald. Wollman moved, seconded by Cooley that the Dept. of Public Works
be instructed to install "Hill" signs on Lannon Dr. south of Highway
24 in accordance with the Police Dept. survey. Motion carried.
Ald. Burgermeister requested that the Police Dept. conduct a survey
around Jensen Field regarding parked cars, parking in ditches, against
the fence and on private property. Also, that the Department run a
survey on Union Church Dr. to determine what speed limit should be
posted.
The monthly report of the Muskego Police Department was reviewed and
placed on file. The estimated cost of different methods of trading
off our Police squad cars was discussed.
Mr. Gottfried requested that the street lights be extended east on
Highway "24" to Bellview Dr. This was taken under advisement.
Ald. Burgermeister recommended that public notices be put into the
local newspapers regarding our new Bicycle License requirements.
The possibility of transferring Junk Car enforcement from the Building
Inspection Dept. to the Police Dept. was discussed.
