PSM19681116PUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO • MINUTES OF MEETING HELD ON NOVEMBER 16, 1968 The meeting was called to order at 7:58 P.M. Present were Chairman Linck, Alderman Wollman and Burgenneister Building Inspector Lee appeared at 8:05 P.M. The Minutes of the previous meeting were approved and will be placed • on file. Motion by Ch. Linck that the Mill Valley N.R.A.A. Permit be approved and fees waived. Seconded by Ald. Wollman. Motion carried. Motion by Ch. Linck that the contract for rescue service be continued with the Tess Corners Fire Dept. at $35.00 per call, however, persons conveyed by this rescue service be charged at the rate of $25.00 per call. Motion seconded by Ald. Wollman. Motion carried. Inspector Lee spoke in behalf of cement asbestos and concrete pipe for sewer laterals from house hook-up to stub lateral as is already approved by State Code and that the following amendment be included in our City Plumbing Code: The first sentence of Sec. 9.2 to read • as follows: "MATERIALS - All building sanitary sewers shall be con- structed of extra heavy cast iron, vitrified clay, concrete or asbestos cement pipe with State approved joints." Sec. 9.3 to be added as follows: "The minimum distance from adjoining property shall be two feet unless written authorization is supplied by the Plumbing Inspector." Motion seconded by Ald. Wollman and carried. Committee discussed the feasibility of flashing red lights at the entrance to main highways (Highway 24 at Tess Corners Dr. for the Tess Corners Dept, Highway 24 at Muskego Fire House and Highway "Y" at the New Muskego Firehouse). Attorney Buckley is to investigate and report back to Committee the necessary legal action to be obtained from State or County, and both Fire Departments to investigate and furnish cost estimate for their respective fire houses and report back to Committee with findings. Committee discussed the water markers or buoys to be placed on inland waters within the City of Muskego, and it was requested that the City Water Patrols, in conjunction with the Police Department, furnish the Committee with charts as to placement of said buoys before any further action be taken by the Safety Committee. • Motion by Ald.
