MINUTES OF MEETING HELD APRIL 1, 1968
Chairman Linck called the meeting to order at 7:06 P.M. Present were
Ald. Lentini and Ald. Narlock.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read by Ald. Narlock. Ald.
Lentini to accept the minutes and place them on file. ,Seconded by
Ald. Linck., Motion carried.
A proposal to complete the parking lot and grounds of the Police
Department were submitted by Police Chief Kraus. During the discussion
Ald. Linck mentioned the advisibility of laying the asphalt some
months after the grading and filling were completed.
Ald. Linck moved to recommend to the Finance Committee the approval
of granting a license to the Schultz Rifle Range under certain
conditions. These conditions include a provision for supervision and
relocation of the targets. Ald. Lentini seconded. Motion carried.
The use of a private car by a Police Officer on City business was
reviewed. The question of insurance coverage will be referred to the
Insurance Carrier and his reply will be taken under consideration by
this Committee.
Police Chief Kraus arrived at the meeting at 7:25 P.M. Police Chief
Kraus reviewed his proposal for improvements at the Police Department
site. Ald. Link moved to recommend to the Finance Committee the
approval of parking and landscaping improvements at the Police
Department. Seconded by Ald. Narlock. Motion carried.
The diving equipment project was discussed with Police Chief Kraus.
Ald. Lentini moved to recommend to the Finance Committee purchase of
diving equipment as proposed for a sum not to exceed $800.00.
Seconded by Ald. Narlock. Motion carried.
Police Chief Kraus pointed out an omission in a recently passed
Ordinance 12.015 which made it more difficult to enforce. The deletion
of the phrase " fermented malt beverages " from the original proposal
is referred to the Rules, Laws, and Ordinance Committee.
Ald. Linck moved to recommend to the Rules, Laws, And Ordinance
Committee a proposal to pay reservists attending summer camp the
difference between their camp pay and City pay. Seconded by Ald.
Lentini. Motion carried.
A procedure to initiate restrictive parking in the City was discussed.
• It was decided to survey the policies that could be established by
consulting with other City Officials and Departments.
Complaints of truck overloads, littering, and stray dogs were discussed
with Police Chief Kraus.
The Police Department's March Consolidated Monthly Report and the Juvenile
Report were reviewed and placed on file.
Ald. Lentini moved to adjourn. Seconded by Ald. Linck. Meeting adjourned
at 8:46 P. M.
