WMINUTES OF MEETING HELD MARCH 4, 1968
Chairman Linck called the meeting to order at 7:18 P.M. Present were
Mayor Gottfried, Police Chief Kraus, Alderman Lentini and Alderman
Narlock.
A request of Albert Shong for a shooting range permit was reviewed.
Alderman Linck and Alderman Lentini pointed out the dangers of this site,
speaking from personal observations. Alderman Linck moved to recommend
to the Finance Committee a denial of this request. Seconded by Alderman
Lentini, motion carried.
Chairman Linck indicated that a meeting will be arranged with Mr. Schultz
at the next Safety Committee to review problems at his shooting range.
One Zoning violation report was received from Zoning Officer Lee and was
placed on file.
The progress of the street lighting project was discussed.
The February Police Department Consolidated Monthly Report was reviewed
with Police Chief Kraus.
Traffic problems on the Tess Corners road were discussed. Speed limits
on Woods Road and Durham Dr. were reviewed.
Alderman Lentini was excused to attend the Plan Commission meeting at
8:05 P.M. Mayor Gottfried also left to attend this meeting.
A report by Alderman Budish of suggested postings for speed limits based
upon a study made by Sgt. Kass, Alderman Linck, Alderman Joost and Alderman
Budish was reviewed. A speed limit of 40 mph for all of Woods Road was
referred to the Police Dept. as there were some reservations for this
speed limit at certain locations. Alderman Linck moved to recommend to
the Rules, Laws & Ordinance Committee all of the other speed limits
suggested on this report. Seconded by Alderman Narlock, motion carried.
The Police Dept. will contact the Waukesha County Highway Dept. to report
missing speed limit signs on Highway "Y" between Tans Drive and College Ave.
Ald. Narlock moved that Martin Drive speed limits be referred to the Dept.
of Public Works for recommendations to the Rules, Laws & Ordinance Committee.
Seconded by Alderman Linck. Motion carried.
A need for additional sign postings on Lannon Drive was referred to the
Department of Public Works for proper posting.
Alderman Linck moved to recommend to the Rules, Laws & Ordinance Committee
the adoption of a new ordinance regulating the registration of bicycles.
Seconded by Alderman Narlock. Motion carried.
40 Ald. Rarlock moved to recommend to the Rules, Laws & Ordinance Committee
the adoption by reference as an addition to our Municipal Code 7.01, the
new State Statute Section 346.595 pertaining to Motor Driven cycles.
Seconded by Alderman Linck. Motion carried.
An addendum to a contract agreement between the City of Muskego and Wis.
Car Rental, Inc. was referred to the City Attorney with an addition to
Paragraph "A", "Except that final decision as to payment will rest with
the Finance Committee." Ald. Narlock moved to recommend to the Finance
Committee acceptance of the addendum after a review by the City Attorney.
Seconded by Alderman Linck. Motion carried.
A Transient Merchant's application form will be reviewed by Police Chief
Kraus. A revised form will be submitted to the Rules, Laws & Ordinance
Committee by Police Chief Kraus for review and approval.
Muskego's Boating Ordinance will be reviewed at the next meeting. The Police
Dept. will review the ordinances of other communities and submit a report
to this Committee.
Ald. Linck moved -to adjourn. Seconded by Ald. Narlock. Meeting adjourned
