PSM19671002PUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO • MINUTES OF MEETING HELD OCTOBER 2, 1967 The meeting was called to order by Chairman Roland Linck at 7:10 P.M. Present were Chairman Roland Linck, Alderman Robert Lentini, Alderman Frank Narlock, Mayor Gottfried and Police Chief Kraus. The minutes of the previous meeting were read. Alderman Lentini moved to approve the minutes, seconded by Alderman Narlock, motion carried. A proposal that the City of Muskego reimburse the Chief of Police for the cost of a private unlisted telephone at his place of residence was discussed. Alderman Linck moved to recommend approval by the Finance Committee. Seconded by Alderman Narlock. Motion carried. The August Tess Corners Rescue Squad Report was reviewed. Alderman Linck moved to recommend approval of the August rescue squad report in the amount of $560.00. Motion seconded by Alderman Narlock. Motion carried. There was a brief discussion covering the extension of water patrolmen duty to October 15. • A proposal to rent or purchase a copying machine for the police department was reviewed. Alderman Narlock moved to recommend approval by the Finance Committee of the renting of a 3M brand "209" dry photo copier as per the company equipment lease agreement. Seconded by Alderman Linck. Motion carried. The 1968 Police Department budget was reviewed and discussed. Alderman Narlock moved to recommend approval by the Finance Committee of the 1968 Police Department Budget after a review of exceptions as noted; namely, cost and need of two radar units, the price of the walkie-talkie, and the training of patrolmen at Marquette. A review was made of the suggested intersection lighting in the City of Muskego. Alderman Narlock moved to recommend approval by the Finance Committee of the proposed intersection lighting covering 57 lights for the congested areas of Highway 24 and 92 lights as indicated on the list of suggested intersection lighting. Seconded by Alderman Lentini. Motion carried. A study was made of the 1968 proposed Civil Defense budget. Alderman Narlock moved to recommend approval by the Finance Committee of a 1968 Civil Defense budget in the amount of $1400. Seconded by Alderman • Lentini. Motion carried.
