• MINUTES OF MEETING HELD AUGUST 14, 1967
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Roland Linck at 8:00 P.M.
Present were Chairman Linck, Alderman Lentini, Mayor Gottfried,
Police Chief Kraus and Mr. Mike Hamersma of the Motorola Co.
Police Chief Kraus presented bid specifications for a central
communication system. Considerable discussion took place as to
the various types of equipment that would be most efficient to
do the best job. Mr. Hamersma explained the function and practicability
of the type of equipment specified.
The Police Department was discussed. There is approximately $66,830.00
left in the budget. This includes $21,000.00 from the Reserve Account.
At 9:35 P.M. the meeting adjourned until 6:30 P.M. August 16, 1967.
At 6:30 P.M. on August 16th the above named people were again present.
Discussion on the Police Budget was continued and it was noted
• that Chief Kraus submitted a total budget of $61,536.63. Included
in this budget was the total yearly salary for the Dog 61arden of
$2,600.00 of which to date $1,269.00 has been expended. Therefore,
the amount of $1,269.00, subtracted from the total budget, would
indicate that the corrected budget would be $60,267.63.
aConsiderable discussion took place regarding police salaries.
At this time Aldermen Joost and Budish joined the meeting.
Chairman Linck moved to recommend to the Finance Committee to
accept the Police Budget, as presented. Seconded by Alderman
Lentini, motion carried.
Only one bid had been received for the squad car, this being from
E. J. Salentine. Bid was discussed.
The Constable Report was received and reviewed. Payment was
recommended by Alderman Lentini, seconded by Chairman Linck, motion
carried.
Rescue Reports from the Tess Corners Fire Dept. were received and
placed on file.
• Copies of Zoning violations were received from Building Inspector
Lee and placed on file.
Chairman Linck moved to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Alderman
Lentini, motion carried. The meeting adjourned at 8:00 P.M.
