PSM19670707PUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO • MINUTES OF MEETING HELD JULY 7, 1967 The regular meeting of the Public Safety Committee was called to order by Chairman Roland Linck at 4:15 P.M. Present were Chairman Linck, Alderman Lentini, Mayor Gottfried and Building Inspector Lee. Is Building Inspector Lee requested a substitute to act as Building Inspector during his vacation between July 19th and August 3rd. The regular Assistant Building Inspector is unable to work more than three of these days due to his business committments. Street lighting was discussed and it was decided to cut some of the cost by cutting the Electric Company recommendation of $12,000.00 to a figure of approximately $7,500.00. Chairman Linck moved to recommend to the Council to authorize the Electric Company to prepare the engineering data for the street lighting on Highway 24. Seconded by Alderman Lentini, motion carried. The reports from the Tess Corners Fire Dept for fire calls and rescue calls were received and placed on file. A copy of a letter of appreciation directed to Mr. Wm. Ahrens from is Police Chief Kraus was received and placed on file. Communicatiors on ordinance violations from Building Inspector Lee Were received and placed on file. • A communication was received from Attorney Hippenmeyer directed to Mayor Gottfried regarding a letter that he had received from District Attorney Roger Murphy in regard to traffic violations by 16 and 17 year olds being tried in Adult Court and municipalities supply their own prosecuting attorney. The possibility of creating the position of an Assistant Humane Officer on a part time basis for patroling the City was discussed. The Safety Committee will view Ruby Drive to see if it warrants being madea one-way street. Chairman Linck moved to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Ald. Lentini, motion carried.
