PUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO
MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING HELD OCTOBER 25, 1965.
The Meeting was called to order by Chairman Hu.dziak at 7:11 P.M.
Present were Chairman Hudziak, Ald. Bostater, Ald. Wieselmann,
Mayor Gottfried, and Tess Corners Vol. Fire Dept. members,
. Plutschak, Imme and Lamb.
Purpose of the special meeting was to discuss the anticipated
rescue service to be provided for the City of Muskego by the
Tess Corners Volunteer Fire Department.
The progress and intentions of the Tess Corners Department
were given by the three members present. Since a contract
would have to be drawn and agreed upon, the following comments
and items may be changed somewhat. The Department stated
the would like a one-year contract with a possible charge
of �25.00 per run. They had 46 rescue runs in their fire area
the past year and to now cover the entire City felt there
might be 150+ possible runs for 1966.
• Within two weeks the Department will be able to contact just
the rescue men on their alert system and figure that service
could be possible by January 1, 1966, or more certain by
February 1, 1966. Members of the Department are taking courses
in rescue work at this time.
The Department is currently thinking of not providing
transportation to ill persons but if it were provided the
individuals would be charged for that service.
Persons requiring first aid would continue to call their
present fire numbers.
Several details have to be worked out before service is to
begin such as additional malpractice insurance.
The Department stated that an International raised roof 3/4
ton vehicle was purchased being entirely built by International
Harvester Company.
Motion to adjourn was made by Ald. Bostater, seconded by
Ald. Wieselmann and carried.
Meeting adjourned at 7:50 P.M.
