MINUTES OF MEETING HELD ON May 6, 1965•
Chairman Hudziak, Alderman Bostater and Wieselmann were in attend-
ance. Also present were Civil Defense Director George Trepanier,
Clarence Walrath and Mayor Gottfried.
Meeting called to order at 6:48 PM by Chairman Hudziak. Mr. Tre-
panier briefed the committee on the Operation and Survivors Plan
for Civil Defense. He asked for at least 75 copies of the booklet
that he had prepared. Mr. Trepanier mentioned he had two very
capable men helping him in the persons of Clarence Walrath and John
Anderson. It was mentioned that the plan would have to be accepted
in order to receive matching funds from the Federal Government.
Since the US Government took over the handling of and administration
of the Civil Defense Program, it has progressed steadily. Auxiliary
Police Force has progressed to the point, in the City of Muskego,
where equipment is necessary to carry on with the program. Auxiliary
Police want some Communications Equipment such as Walkie-Talkies.
There is also a need for a salary for the Civil Defense Director.
The degree of responsibility for the Director should be spelled out.
Instructors have to be paid for educational programs. Any telephone
unless it is essential and registered in time of disaster, will be
• pulled and there will be no chance for outside communication.
Water Patrol Applicants were discussed. Anthony Carlo was recommend-
ed by Alderman Bostater, seconded by Chairman Hudziak to serve on
Lake Denoon. Elmer Tetzlaff was recommended by Alderman Wieselmann,
seconded by Alderman Bostater to serve on Bass Bay. Arthur Heiden
and Ervin Brown were recommended by Chairman Hudziak, seconded by
Alderman Wieselmann to serve on Little Muskego.
Badges for Constables were discussed. Alderman Bostater moved that
four (4) water patrol badges, and one large badge and a small badge
for caps for Constable Bohlman and assistants (4 of each) to be re-
commended by Safety Committee for a sum of $55.00 or thereabout.
Seconded by Alderman Wieselmann and carried.
Motion made to adjourn by Alderman Bostater, seconded by Chairman
Hudziak, carried. Meeting adjourned at 8:15 PM.
