lbm20080423MUSKEGO PUBLIC LIBRARY BOARD Muskego Public Library Room #6 April 23, 2008 1. Call to Order: President D. Dominski called the meeting to order at 7:03 PM. 2. Roll Call: Also present were J. De Vito-Scalzo, K. Huebner, R. Jankowski, J. Schroeder, S. Snyder and Director H. Sanhuber. S. Gould and S. Oneson were absent. 3. Pledge of Allegiance: recited. 4. Statement of Public Notice: Given in accordance with the open meeting law on April 17, 2008. 5. Approval of Minutes: S. Snyder moved to approve minutes of the March 26, 2008 meeting with the correction of the spelling of author Thomas Ramstack and J. De Vito-Scalzo seconded. Motion carried. 6. Next Meeting Scheduled May 28, 2008. 7. Treasurer’s Report: S. Snyder moved R. Jankowski seconded motion to approve payment of April expenses of $47,808.42. Motion carried. S. Snyder m oved R. Jankowski seconded motion to approve payment of WCFLS April expenses of $4,497.00. Motion carried. 8. Communications a. Communications: Book Page was circulated. b. E-mail of materials: Make decision at the May meeting. c. Guest Comments: None. d. Comment Forms: Forms were circulated. 9. Old Business a. FOL: The Wine Tasting is sold out! b. Trust Fund: No statement. c. Librarian’s Report: Read and placed on file. Robert Kreuser obituary was circulated. d. WCFLS: Funding subcommittee has completed its work. A Best Fit II formula was approved. The Legislative Audit Bureau Best Practices Review: Public Library Services report highlights and the State Newsletter were distributed. Overdrive will have content to download to Ipods. 10. New Business a. Pending Fine Disputes: None. b. Automation/Technology: There is a problem with the font size on the public access PCs. The System wrote a grant to get Wii gaming. c. Library Services and Budget: It is possible to remove the library budget off the tax rolls and put it on a special notice as is done with refuse and recycling. This would remove the restriction of levy caps. d. Closed Session: J. Schroeder moved to convene into closed session pursuant to Wis. Stats 19.85(1)(c) Considering employment, promotion, compensation or performance evaluation data of any public employee over which the governmental body has jurisdiction or exercises responsibility, more specifically to review the 2007 performance evaluation of the Library Director. Action may be taken in closed session. The library board will then reconvene into open session to continue with agenda items. S. Snyder seconded. Motion carried 6-0. e. Open Session: R.
