Call to Order: The meeting was called 181 order by President Christenson at 7:OSP.M. 3. Statement of Public Notice: Given in accordance with the open meeting law on December 20, 4. Approval of Minutes: Minutes of the November 29, 2000 meeting were approved on motion by D. 5. Next Meeting Scheduled: January 24, :!001. 6. Treasurer's Report: R. Christenson mowed R. Jankowski seconded motion to approve payment of expenses to date of $15.187.21, Motion carried. R. Christenson moved R. Jankowski seconded motion to approve WCFLS expenses to date of $2455.95. Motion carried. R. Christenson moved R. Jankowski seconded motion to approve Building expense of 3017,75. Motion carried. Yahr, and Director H. Sanhuber. R. Rammer and T Uttke were absent. 2000. Carter seconded by C. Schwalbach. 7. Communications a. Communications: Patron commfmts circulated. Patron complaint about an organization not gelling the same room every mctnth. Board policy is that rooms are reserved by date Of application. Ray will call organization and re-explain board policy. Don Carter is resigning from the board. b. Guest Comments: None. a. FOL. Craft fair volunteers will bo handled by Dorothy Pratt. b. Trust Fund: $31,621.88 as of thc latest report. c. Librarian's Report: Read and placed on file. New chairs for the children's area are here. d. WCFLS: Distributed System nevrsletler and APL report. We will have a copy of the System Looking for artists to decorate canvas panels between the adult and children's area. contract to be signed at the next meeting. 8. Old Business 9. New Business a. Pending Fine Disputes: None. b. AutomatiorVTechnology: None. c. Long Range Planning: Survey fclrms will be placed in the library next week. d. Provision ofCo&e: Lots of diwlssion on location of coffee. Board would like to try it on a trial basis in a meeting room. Remodeling the library would be cost prohibitive for a trial. A small percent of patrons would like coffee in the library. Holly will reedit drafl response for review at the next meeting. e. 2001 Fee Schedule: D. Carler rnoved for approval of second reading with revised meeting room schedule and recalculated non-resident fee. C. Wichgen seconded. Motion carried. f. Meeting Room Policy: B. Among the problems were new routers needed, and a cable being cut. As you can imagine, we were lefl scrambling, but we did manage to clean up some behincCthe-scenes things which had been lefl for want of time. As always, the unflappable staff pitched in without complaint. We have our first roof leak - on the west :side, between Charlene's office and the west exit door. Since we use the author names as reference points, we'd say it's located "down James Fenirnore Cooper." George, Shawn, the IMayor, and GWJ are working on it. Buckets, and moving book8 out of the way are the ordw of the day. Look on the bright side: At least library staff are not the ones shoveling snow off the rwf. We did a very popular "turkey preparation" handout-one of those annual holiday questlons. As you may have heard, a new law will require schools and libraries to use filters for the getting something out to all of us soon. Internet.
