1. Call to Order: The meeting was called to order by President Christenson at 500 P.M.

sources of funds would be planned giving (trusts, endowments, memorials), an annual
campaign, or corporate plans (prqo(lram/support sponsor). Capital funding was
discussed. Recognition for donors #(naming rights- how many dollars are areas worth).
Get youth involvement. Wetlandlewironmental area. Corporate in-kind donations. 10-
20% of donors give 7040% of funds. Collaborate with business (find mutual objectives).
Grant development is another area of funds. Goals, needs, objectives should match
prospects.
8. Old Business
a. FOL: Ray Christenson announced his intention to give'a gift of appreciated
stock with a value of $30,000. He would like the children's area in the new library
designated the "Ray and Dorothy C hristenson Children's reading Area" and the funds
used for children.
b. Trust Fund: $57,056.99 balance.

Charlene and Penny were pictured In two library-related articles in the Sun.
young people Involved reported the matter to the police. A court date Is imminent.
Nearly $500.00 worth of books were stolen from the library and defaced. A parent of one of the

This month's display is the work of Fred Washa. His "digital photography" uses a regular
camera, but after the film is developed, it i:3 run through a scanner, so the pictures can be
stored in one's computer, and later printed out.
Our new Page is Christine Weiss. nicknamsd Tina, who comes to us with volunteer library
experience in the Muskego-Norway school system. We are very glad to add her to the crew.
Jane attended demonstrations of the EBSCO and UMI databases, the 'state databases" you've
heard me mention. She will be passing on what she learned to the other reference librarians.
The Gale authors series has been added to the list of databases provided to us by WCFLS.
The Lakeshores contract was narrowly approved, 4-3. Vindication: Lakeshores could not reach
an agreement with Arrowhead. Arrowhead will receive no funds, and doors will be closed.
WCFLS thanks our Mayor for his input and support, without which the contract would not have
been approved.
