b. Guest Comments: Durrant Architects gave a presentation on the
library project. The building is on schedule. Included were the interior layout and
colors.

a. FOL: No report.
c. Librarian's Report: Read and placed on file. Thelma Anderson resigned
b. Trust Fund: No report.

now has a search engine. Received a payment of $26,178 from Lakeshores. The
System board will meet in Muskssgo on October 20 at 9:00 AM.
d. WCFLS: Lakeshores wants to cut funding. The Mayor is involved in the
proposal. The joint Muskego-Norway school district presents problems for
library usage.

d. Budget 1999: Final budget distributed.
e. Long Range Planning: Review Library Board Policy through Article VI.
D. Carter moved E. Yahr seconded motion to investigate change of Policy format
from Roman numeral to Numerical as in Municipal codes. Motion carried.

LIBRARIAN’S REPORT
AugustlSeptember, 1998
After nearly twenty-five years with the library, Thelma Anderson has
resigned due to health reasons. We will miss this dedicated craftswoman, our
mender, jacketer, and refurbisher of books.
We have been given permission to re-fill this Page position, and we hope
to have applications by the October deadline.
The city has been engaged in a job study, which has taken some staff
time.
The city’s Web page now ha:; a search engine attached.
Our payment from Lakeshores, $26,178.00, has arrived.
I will be on vacation September 24-29, and October 12-16.
The WCFLS Board will meet here on Tuesday, October 20” at 9:00 A.M.
The bid was awarded for sito work. The low bidder was James Cape &
Sons of Racine, for $277,441.
Jane and I worked on organizing our Internet files, and set some
guidelines for adding of “bookmarlrs” and naming files. We also have been
orienting reference staff to the statewide databases, which we will be checking
before sending interloan requests, as some of the periodicals are full-text.
We extend sympathy to Rosemary Hallada and her family on the loss of
her brother.
