LIBRARIAN'S REPORT
October/November, 1996
We received a gift copy of 14el Ellis's Notes From Little Lakes,
from his widow, Gwen.
We received an $1,100 book 13rant from WCFLS, which has been spent
in the adult section this year.
The display case features t:he model train fascination of Ron
Wojciechowski, husband of staff member Elaine.
Automation: Barcoding keep,i rolling along. Beginning September
30, through today, 15 volunteers took 196 hours to finish
Easy books are finished, anj adult fiction was completed this
juvenile fiction and half of juvenile non-fiction. Areas of the
morning. Printing on adult non-fiction should have finished
today, as we were in 978 at 7:OO this morning. Linda and Elaine
are keeping track of this portion of the automation process, and
they're doing a great job.
We will be working with WCFLS on a cooperative ETB/WATF/LSTA
Internet and CD-ROM sources grant if funding is received.
Charlene attended a workshop on serving customers with
developmental disabilities. This is part of a county special
needs grant.
The children's literature correspondence course I teach for UW-Ex
needed to be revised to accommodate a new textbook. Preparation
of the new manual took the bulk of my 1995 vacation time, but the
finished product is now available. The writing and teaching are
things I do to retain my state certification.
My last week of 1996 vacation will be the week of December 2nd.
