We received a $200.00 donation from the Muskego Woman's Club,
which has been added to the Trust Fund.
WCFLS has budgeted a $1,100.00 materials grant for member

troops. The adult reading group has chosen Arthur Ashe's Days Of
Grace as their current selection, and the juniors are reading

boy's harrowing journey aboard a slave ship.
Penny attended a meeting of the Special User's Needs Committee.
They will be continuing the visually impaired users' grant, and
beginning that for the developmental disabled client. Kalmbach
Publishing has donated "visit:ing kits" to all system libraries
which can be used to stimu1at.e memories of Alzheimer's patients.
Two stories which give a perspective on library service in our
community:
We had a Dad literally yelling at our staff because the
only book left on volcanos in the children's section was
copyrighted 1969. Our staff explained that the library can have
only so many books on a topic:, (we show 35 entries in the on-line
catalog) that we are here to supplement the school libraries, not
replace them, and that for a subject which would not have changed
greatly, fifteen years was not all that bad, given economic
constraints. The staff member proceeded to find the customer
other resources, including a video, and so all ended happily ...
Day." As she was giving her talk, a boy raised his hand. "We
use Waterford Library," he said. Penny responded she was glad
his family used a library, and continued her remarks. His hand
shot up a short while later. "My Mom likes it better," he said.
Penny allowed as how that was fine, and finished her talk. As
she was leaving, the same boy came over, planted hands on hips
and said, "I'm going to tell her she's WRONG!" Way to go, Penny!
That must have been some presentation!
Acrylic painter Phil Perlongo is displaying this month.
