December expenditures of 321,503.42 were approved on motion 1.1. Berken,
second C. Stewart. December Federated System expendi tures of 31,280.76
were approved on motion 1.1. Berken second D. Carter. January expenses
of 83,461.95 were approved on motion I-I. Berken, second P. Patterson.
These expenses were for magazine subscriptions.

215 letter's to exhihitors for the craft fair were mailed. Press releases
are scheduled to go out. Holly will find out if there is a way to
advertise the fair on the internet. Information about the fair should
get on channel 7 . Ray will get approval for temporary signs advertising
the fair. The trust fund has a ttalance of 35,243.86 with 339,689 in
Certificates of deposit. Kathy Ciosi, director of the Federated System,
has been invited to attend the February board meeting. We are trying to
get information en the system long range plans, so that we can formulate

complete, but results have not been tabulated yet. The catalog will go
cards.
The school board - common council joint library subcommittee
meeting wa.s discussed. Pesitiue comments from all attendees. The Public
Library Service Record and articles on the .joint library project in
Scottsdale, AZ. were distrihuted. A motion to determine if the fourth
Wednesday is available for 1 i br;iry board meetings was made by R.
Jankowsk i and seconded by D. Carter, Met i on carried. The move to a
different night is because of the conflict with the plan commission far
broadcast on channel 7.

LIBRARIAN'S REPORT
Dec:ember, 1995
besides holiday vacations, we had four people out with the flu.
The APL group (county library directors) met here in
It's a good thing December is our quietist month, because
December, as did the county children's librarians. After the
meeting, many of us went to .Aud Mar for a retirement celebration
for retiring Pewaukee Director, Peggy Lipke.
Regular programming continued in December.
Jocelyn Bubbolz, new WCFLS Adult Services Coordinator, was a
guest at one of our staff meetings, asking for input on the
system's long-range plan.
to attend our February Board meeting. Since she has completed
the planning process suggest'ed by the county, I think it would be
a good idea to take advantag'e of her experience before she
retires.
Speaking of long-range :plans, I am going to ask Kathy Gosz
The city is having Davimd M. Griffith & Associates do a
position study. Each employee has a 15-page "Comprehensive
Position Questionare" to com:plete. I am meeting with each
employee to discuss her curr'ent job description, the impact of
the computer on her job, and completion of the questionare.
The December display fe,stured items new to our collection.
The joint library committee met December 19th. Board
members Carter, Christenson, Jankowski, Woodard, and FOL member
Jane Mundro were there. The meeting was positive, with a focus
on enhanced services rather than reduced costs.
