Penny was featured as CI "Muskego Personality" in the Sun.
Milwaukee artist and Caldecott winner Lois Ehlert has designed
the 1996 summer reading proqram materials around the circus theme,
"Razzle Dazzle Read." 1997 will feature history and time travel with
"ZAP into the Past." The 1996 materials, costing $265.00, are paid
for by WCFLS.
My hard drive died. Thanks to Joe Sommers for reloading the
contents of my 13 floppies \ria the AS 400 backup. Fortunately, I had
just backed up before the crash.. . A chore not to be neglected!
Because of all of the records we have been loading into the AS
400, we had a 20% increase ..n our use of disk space last year.
Regular programming is being held: 3 year-old storyhours,
preschool programming, jr. high book group and adult book group. Mary
Tooley came to entertain children for a "day off school" program,
courtesy of the Friends of the Library.
The FOL also reimbursed the library for the preferred page ad in
the forthcoming Muskego Woman's Club directory.
Penny made her annual trek to the Cooperative Children's Book
Center in Madison, where she examined the newest books available and
brought back ideas for next year's purchase.
Penny was also a guest at the high school, where she spoke to Ms.
Damon's English classes, who use children's books to study literature
and writing.
Visiting Nurses' Association by hosting flu shots.
The library joined other county libraries and the Waukesha County
Jane DeAngelis has successfully completed her field work here.
Some public library in the :Euture is going to be lucky to have her
join the staff.
