Although they are popular with readers, we receive more donations of romance paperbacks than space will allow, so during the week of August 21st, the Friends of the Library's year-round used booksale expanded from the lobby of city hall into the library itself. During regular library hours we sold the books five for $1.00, and raised over $200.00 for the FOL. To date, the Friends' membership has increased by 125 people, and donations have amounted to about $1,500.00. Besides sending money, some people have written kind words as well, stressing the importance of libraries in general, and thanking our library for good service, which is very heartening. All LB members should have received an invitation to the FOL sponsored lunch being held at the library September 20th. We received a $100.00 donation to the trust fund from Ruth Dague. Penny went to a safety workshop, and a meeting of the Waukesha County Literacy Council. I will be on vacation the week of September 25th.
