Second Russ JanKowsK i Secretary LIBRARIAN'S REPORT :June, 1995 Saturdays, so we've had an opportunity to catch up a bit. It has been fairly quiet this month, at least evenings and However, staff vacations, coupled with the fact that the Page position was open all month, kept productivity about even. The new Page is Nancy Lobe. Judy went to the "Soaring to Excellence" teleconference held for support staff. WCFLS recognized Judy, Margot and Rosemary for attending at least one session. Penny attended Literacy Council and Intellectual Freedom meetings, and Charlene and Holly went to APL at Pewaukee Programs this month included the Adult Book Group, and "The Wild Ones," the junior-high book group. WCFLS-funded Summer Reading Program events included visits from Wehr Nature Center and storyteller Mama Baer. We've also had Bedtime Storyhour, Preschool Storyhour, and a Game-a-thon. Our staff, for the second year, has created an adult summer reading bibliography. Adults can also take part in a program, after which they are eligible for a drawing for (donated) certificates. Ald. Rasmussen asked for a list of everyone in the library and what they do. I am distributing a sample of what he was given. The July Artist-of-the-Month is William DeVore, who paints landscapes in oil and watercolor. We've had a number of patrons expressing concern over the proposed joint library. Since our customers have opinions about all kinds of things which they express to us, but seldom to an Alderperson, I am proposing de adopt an "Opinion" form, which we would route to the appropriate official. I am distributing a draft copy as a discussion starter, and proposing the matter be on the agenda next month.
