Jankowski T meeting was called to order at 7:OO P.M. by Chairman D. Carter. Dmdistributed Projected Library Space Needs Tentative Analysis #l. The document was reviewed in its entlrity. We discussed the results of the calculations that were done and how the base data was obtained. Members are to review the analyses for further discussion at the next meeting. Patterson Meeting was called to order at 7:30 P.M. by president Christenson. Agenda was approved on motion R. Leichtfuss second N. Berken. Minutes of the October 5 meeting were approved on motion J. Roberson, second R. Jankowski. Next meeting scheduled December 7, 1993. Treasurers report:Motion N. Berken, second J. Roberson to approve October expenditures in the amount of $17,722.07. Motion carried. Motion N. Berken, second J. Roberson to approve October Federated System expenditures in the amount of $3,080.05. Motion carried. Communications:Olga Mimier received over 100 cards and thanks everyone. J. Roberson, R. Rammer, N. E,erken and Library Director H. Sanhuber. Patron letter complaining that book sale prices are too low. Guest comments:None ". F0L:Scarecrows will be for sale at the Peppermint Fair. Nine were sold Business: A Christmas Droqram will. be held on December 14. for a total of $315. D. Carter will make puzzles for sale also. Trust Fund:October i4 balance $23,449.01. $250 received from Parkland Kiwanis and $30 from A.A.. Ruth and June reported on Kiwanis lunch and Greendale library visit. Librarians report:Read and placed on file. October and November WAUKIE- TALKIE were distributed.. Final budget received. Motion R. Christenson, second R. Jankowski to have Holly write a letter to the Finance committee detailing our position on staff needs. Motion passed. Interlibrary Cooperation:No report. Automation:Memo on disk utilization from J. Summers. Long range p1anning:Don and Ray toured Hartland library. Provided their library plan for the $1:?5,000 grant they received. Don and Ray will continue library visits as time permits. New Business: Report on Trustee Breakfast:Ruth reported on meeting. Review Complaint Resolve pending fine disputes :None. Handling Procedures frequently. Review materiels selection po1icy:Review other library policies and obscene/lewd description. Russ Jankowski, Secretary I 'I I LIBRARIAN'S REPORT October, 1993 Lots of learning going on this month: Penny attended the annual field trip to the Cooperative Children's Book Center in Madison, and represented WCFLS at the 1995 Summer Library Program planning meeting. The theme will be "Sportacular Summer." ETNs were held on books by Wisconsin authors and American Indian resources. A workshop on serving homeschoolers was presented, and a tour of the Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped was held. will be presented in February. The first series of "Zoo grant" programs was held, and another An interlibrary loan meeting was held in conjunction with the county's academic libraries. See a display of "Christmas crafts" by staff member, Linda Brown. Holly has been invited to teach a section of "Children's Milwaukee, spring semester.
