Patterson and Library Director H. Sanhuber. Excused: R. Rammer and N. Berken. Meeting was called to order at 7:37 P.M. by president Christenson. Agenda was approved on motion J. Wolf, second R. Jankowski. Corrected minutes of the September 7 meeting were approved on motion J. Roberson, second R. Jankowski. Next meeting scheduled November 2, 1993. Treasurers report: Motion R. Christenson, second J. Wolf to approve September R. Christenson, second J. Wolf to approve September Federated System expenditures in the amount of $20,528.68. Motion carried. Motion expenditures in the amount of $8,790.69. Motion carried. Communications: Olga Mimier is in poor health. Guest comments: None Old Business: FOL: Scarecrows are for sale in the library for $35. The art fair will be held Feb. 27 & 28, 1994. Booth fees will go up $5.00. Steering committee meeting on October 12 at 9:OO. Trust Fund: Mid September balance $23,398. $100 donation received. Librarians report: Read and placed on file. September WAUKIE-TALKIE and salary and overtime budget were distributed. Automation: Linda is working on adult fiction. Interlibrary Cooperation: Trustees breakfast on October 23. Long range planning: City hall space rearrangement could force the library to relocate in a different building. Don recapped the Oconto Falls library presentation. Next meeting November 2. Russ Jankowski, Secretary LIBRARIAN'S REPORT September, 1993 Our busiest times have shifted to after school, evenings and Saturdays, as the homework season is again upon us and students of all ages prepare class assignments. We will be receiving a $600.00 grant to purchase materials useful to This gift comes to us through membership in WCFLS. The September display featured the work of the Muskego Creative Photographers' Guild. Gordon Drake's pencil portraits and caricatures with a library display, "Fall into Books." are being shown now, and we hope to fill the other side of the case The adult book discussion group is meeting again on the second Tuesday winner, Shabanu, Dauqhter of the Wind, by Suzanne Fisher Staples, at 7:OO. Among other works, they will be reading Newbery Medal which the young people read this summer. We will again be taking part in the Jason project, which attempts to interest children in science. Penny attended a regional meeting. The AARCS Users' meeting was held at Brookfield. APL met at New Berlin. The reference services update took place at Waukesha. Linda and Holly went to a wc'rkshop on introducing the public to a computerized catalog. Penny attended the zoo grant meeting and the WCFLS Special Needs and Children's committee meetincis. We received a $100.00 donation to the trust fund from Ruth Dague. Carter, R. Christenson, R. Leichtfuss, R. Jankowski and Library The meeting was called to order at €,:58 P.M. by Chairman D. Carter. Don reported on his meeting with the library director of the Oconto Falls city donated $500,000 without a referendum. Scott Paper was the largest library. The funds to build the library came from a variety of sources. The business contributor with $50,000. They used the public access television channel for a telethon to raise funds and generated $120,000 in pledges. The cost of the building was approxi.mately $65 square foot, considerably less than the average for our area. Don obtained a copy of the building program statement and other documentation that was used by Oconto Falls. They also established a citizens advisory committee for their project. Ruth suggested we use FOL funds for public relations needs and contact service clubs for their input.
