lbm19901106November 6, 1990 MUSKEG0 PUBLIC LIBRARY BOARD Muskego City Hall Present: Board members Charmian Buhrandt, Raymond Christenson, Ruth Leichtfuss, Jane Mundro, Sharon Passler, Harold Sanders, June Wolf and Director Holly Sanhuber. R. Christenson. Agenda was approved by motion of J. Wolf: seconded, C. Buhrandt. Minutes of October 2, 1990 meeting were approved by motion of C. Buhrandt, seconded by J. Mundro. The next meeting is scheduled December 4, 1990. The meeting was called to order at 7:30 P.M. by President Treasurer's report: Motion by J. Wolf, seconded by C. Buhrandt, to approve October expenditures of $14,765.27. Motion carried. J. Wolf moved, R. Leichtfuss seconded, to approve October WCFLS expenditures of $3,565.61. Motion carried. An ammended page three for the October financial report was distributed, which shows the cost charged to the library by the city for the annual paper order. Communications: None. The school district is once again offering parent programs during morning s.toryhours. Programs this month inchded Readers' Choice movies and dealing with unattended (1atchke.y) children: multicultural Workshops held included reference for paraprofessionals: children's books: desktop pub1is:ning with the IBM: support staff on displaying or "marketing" mat,?rials. seminars: and dealing with income tax forms. We hosted a program The Multitype Library an3 the Film Preview committees met. The Artist of the Month was Grace Goodwin of Big Bend. The Voluntary Action Center is displaying in November. We also have small displays for the Shaker Tea, Thanksgiving and the Community Newspapers scary story winners. One of the farthest (in distance) came from a child in Big Rapids, Michigan who needed information for a class assignment on a famous person from the Muskego area. Charlene sent material on Colonel Heg. We've had some "far-out" reference questions in our day. We have been informed that we will receive some hours of work from two local people who are on a county help program. We received a donation of books on death and dying from Becker Ritter Funeral Homes, and a $500.00 donation from the Parkland Kiwanis. Readers' Roost so that it can no longer be climbed upon.
