Focus was on Library Board legal powers, responsibilities, and liabilities. J. Mundro consented to respond to ;the survey received from Oconomowoc Friends of the Libra.ry. payment on software. The school year began briskly, with lots fund from the Wednesday night AA group. We received a $60.00 donation to the trust management, and Charlene learned videotape repair. Cindy attended a workshop on time Phyllis represented us at an ILL meeting: Linda went to see printers, displays and monitors at went to a system automation meeting, and Holly and Madison for the annual children's literature IBM. Penny attended an ETN and went to Green Bay workshops. were delighted to realize that 1,000 children registered for the reading program. While "cleaning up" from the summer, we Storyhours have not started yet, but we are offering a film seri,es to tie in with the school district's Readers' Choice program. Someone evidently was determined to obtain the few dollars inside t.he Friends of the Library booksale box, which is attached to the bookcase in city hall. Apparently frustrated in their attempt to open the box on the :;pot, they stole the entire so Ray Christenson's beautiful craftsmanship can shelf from the bookcase., We hope it will turn up, be restored to its usual. handsome appearance. Used book donations have been meager lately, and since we empty the box several times a week, the thief could not have got.ten much. We did report the incident to the police. Teri is leaving us. She is considering going back to school, 01: finding a way to use her degree in sociology. We will miss her good humor, versatility and hard work. Holly will be on vacation October 5-15.
