LIBRARIAN'S REPORT
March 6, 1990
Neither rain nor snow nor sleet nor hail seems to keep people from
coming into the library. Our February circ was 11,400.
On the way back from a meeting at Waukesha library, Charlene and I
were rear-ended by a truck driver who apparently failed to observe
cars (of which we were the last) stopped for a red light. I had
to be x-rayed, medicated and r,zleased. Charlene's car was
to be pried out of the car, an'3 we were taken to Waukesha hospital

straight is beyond me!
We have experimented with various ways of storing back issues of
the Muskeyo Sun. Now we are gDing to try sturdy flat boxes.
Ann Christman, WCFLS automation consultant, told us about the
availability of "Acquire" software from Baker & Taylor. We will
no longer be ordering books through BaTaPhone, which we leased for
nearly $300.00 per year. Instead, we will be using a toll-free
number and our interloan computer equipment.

School district librarians met here twice to plan next year's
bibliography of all selections previously used during this
"Readers' Choice" program. We were able to provide a master
program.
An automated door-opening device was added to the library's
portion of the block grant application.
The young adult paperbacks purchased in July of 1988 with state
aid grant funds have finally been cataloged and processed. Thanks

Penny and Teri took an ETN class on the summer library program.
Pat Bakula, WCFLS children's consultant, paid us her annual visit,
to share information, and to plan the system's involvement in the
summer program.
Two scout tours were added to the regular storyhours and daycare
center programs.
I was proud to see three years' work come to fruition with the
publication of the National Council of Teachers of English's
Adventuring with Books. Like the other committee members, I read
and reviewed hundreds of books. In addition, I compiled the
end-of-chapter bibliographies. The book was well-reviewed in
Booklist.
