LIBRARIAN'S REPORT
January 3, 1989
This is an especially busy time for the staff: closing out
one year while beginning another. Everyone who "owes" me
statistics for the various annual reports is compiling them.
The dreaded state report forms should be arriving any day
now.. .
Besides the increases in fines, we are implementing new
Waukesha County non-residents and verifying their places of
procedures from WCFLS which involve our re-registering all
residence on a street map.
So far, the questions we have had on the new tax bill
procedure have involved things we could not know about the
relationships of the people living at the same address.
Even when we are computerized, we won't know that one person
is the daughter-in-law of t.he other, or that a person on a
so the property owner is nc~ longer the one liable. Next
juvenile card has subsequently reached the age of majority,
year we will probably send letters in advance of the tax
bills to forestall these difficulties.
A new storyhour session is beginning soon.
Harold Sanders is the January Artist-of-the-Month.
The library continues to receive good publicity. Teri
Searing was photographed ai: a recent storyhour.
The discarding of 1986 magazines has begun. Phyllis and
Teri will be kept extra busy for some time.
We are considering making all reserve materials a one-week
under the current method.
loan because we have been :Losing the circulation on them
We will be having a copy 01: the Woman's Club Cookbook
available at the check-out desk, and will be accepting
personal checks of anyone who wishes to buy one. The MWC
will be doing the actual o:rdering. So far, we have
cooperated with community 13roups when asked to do so in this
manner, (e.g. the Chemical People calendar), but the LB may
wish to consider some guidelines for the future.
Holly will be on vacation :from January 20-30.
