I LIBRARIAN’S REPORT
i6 November 1, 1988
I Lots of good news this month: Circulation for October was 10,500.
The shifting is done, and the shelves look good. Charlene, Teri
end panels finally showed up, and PW put them on pronto. Now all
and Cory were the brains and brawn behind this major move. The
the staff has to do is get used to where things are!
The check-out area has been reorganized. We’re still looking for
the perfect work flow pattern. This is a great improvement,
thanks to Linda and the circ people.
Penny completed a storytelling course offered through Alverno.
She has since gone Halloweening to Tess Corners (Scout Pack 174)
and Muskego El (3-5 graders) to practice her skills and to promote
library use.
Three groups of first graders came to visit the city hall/library
complex and were given tours of the library and heard stories.
The new storyhour session begins November 10th. This past six
weeks has been very well attended. 72 children registered, and
the six-week attendance total was 355. The final program featured

and wore rubber noses (elephant trunk, crocodile snout, etc.).
The PD had special packets for each child, and we raided the FOL
booksale for funds to buy sma1:L treats. Penny and Teri also made
popcorn and cookies.
Parent program has also ended. Cindy Crebbin is doing a feature
for the Sun.
Storyhours were given for Vernon Day Care and the Child Care
Providers group.
A reference workshop was held iat Elm Grove.
Charlene attended a Multitype meeting at Waukesha.
Linda and Holly attended a mee.ting with automation consultant Rick
Richmond and a demonstration OE the Bibliofile Intelligent Catalog
and Circulation System.
An incident this past month prompts me to remind the LB of the
number which may be called before we open: 679-4122. It is the
same number which appears on y2ur agendas each month.
